Gas Lift Equipment

Engineered Design. Installation of your gas lift system begins with designing the best-engineered solution. Our OPTIpod® software uses a number of well characteristics to determine the optimal amount of gas needed to deliver fluids to the surface. It also indicates the best gas-injection locations based on pressure, a critical criterion for optimal production.

  • SR and JR Series Mandrels. These tubing-retrievable mandrels are installed as an integral component of the tubing. Both mandrels have an external ported lug to carry tubing retrievable gas lift and orifice valves. The SR Series Mandrel is configured for 1 ½" OD gas lift equipment, while the JR Series Mandrel is configured for 1" OD equipment. The mandrels are available in various sizes and materials for different operating environments, and can be used in either a single- or dual-string completion.
  • LM and IM Series Mandrels. Installed in the tubing string, the LM Series Mandrel has an external ported lug configured for 5/8" O.D. tubing retrievable gas lift equipment. The IM Series Mandrel features internally mounted gas lift and check valves, and has the same O.D. dimensions as the tubing, which makes it ideal in wells with limited clearance between the tubing and casing.
  • Gas Lift and Check Valves. Apergy provides tubing retrievable gas lift valves designed for intermittent or continuous flow applications. We also offer a range of check valves designed to prevent back flow from the injection valve, which may damage the casing.

Wireline Retrievable Equipment.

  • D and F Series Side Pocket Mandrels. These mandrels are used as an internal receiver for installing and retrieving gas lift valves and related equipment without having to pull or rerun the tubing string. Their oval shape makes the mandrels ideal for dual completion applications, and they can be installed in deviated or straight well bores.
  • The D Series Mandrel features machined pockets and guards with 1" and 1 ½" ID.  The F Series Mandrel features a one-piece forged pocket detector, 1" pocket I.D., and a 180° latch pocket profile.
  • Round Body Side Pocket Mandrels. Featuring a round body design with machined pocket and guards, these mandrels are primarily used in single completions. Installed as part of the tubing string, the mandrel pocket acts as a landing nipple for retrievable gas lift equipment, and is offset from the bore of the tubing to allow post completion tools to pass through without restriction. Different models and configurations include:
    • The R Series Mandrel, with 1" and 1 1/2" I.D. pockets.
    • The U Series Mandrel has a 1" pocket ID and a special clearance O.D. for installation in small casing sizes.
    • The H Series Mandrel is a high-pressure mandrel with a 1" pocket I.D. and an enhanced burst and collapse pressure rating design for compatibility with most heavyweight tubulars.

Our WP Series Gas Lift Valves are retrievable, injection-pressure operated valves for intermittent or continuous gas lift.

For dual gas lift systems or applications with unstable injection pressure, our WF Series of spring-loaded, production pressure-operated valves are an excellent choice.

Additional Gas Lift Equipment.

Packers  - Apergy provides packers for any production application.

  • Our Arrowset Style Packer is a mechanically set, retrievable packer most commonly used for treating, testing, injecting, pumping or flowing wells, both deep and shallow.
  • The Model R Packer is used in production as a conventional long-stroke packer.

Both packers include large bypass areas, are designed for easy setting and releasing, and are available in premium metals and elastomers for harsher operating conditions.

Stingers. We provide stingers as part of the on/off tool assembly at the top of the packer. The stinger is often left on top of the packer with a plug in place to keep the well from flowing while the tubing is installed.

Nipples. Designed to allow common slickline plugs and equipment to be placed downhole, nipples are sized to the required I.D. profile and are available in API and premium threads and corrosion-resistant alloy trim, as desired.

Plugs. Pump-out plugs act as a temporary bridge that isolates the tubing from the annulus while setting a packer. Available in a variety of configurations, the plug is removed by simply applying pressure to the tubing.

Gas lift Innovations for Horizontal and Deep Vertical Wells.

As more wells are drilled deeper with long laterals and perforated intervals, conventional gas lift techniques cannot overcome liquid loading and pressure build-up challenges to bring production to surface.  To ensure optimum reservoir drawdown in these wells, Apergy Gas Lift offers several innovative methods that take gas lift deeper in the well.

Our Annular Bypass Assembly (ABA) is a hybrid of the conventional gas lift system with packer and an open-ended, packerless system. Using tubing and gas lift valves above the packer and a bypass assembly, the ABA allows injected gas to pass through the packer.

A Dip Tube method of deep lift incorporates a crossover flow adapter and unique mini-wellbore below the packer. The assembly facilitates the deepest point of gas injection without applying additional back pressure on the formation.

Our Enhanced Annular Velocity (EAV) method of gas lift uses tubing and gas lift valves above a packer and a selectively sized injection string with internally mounted gas lift valves below.

The Marathon Annular Velocity Enhancement (AVE) system is a wireline-retrievable technology similar to the EAV. The AVE is patented by Marathon and exclusively sold and manufactured by Apergy.

A Dead String installation prevents liquid loading in wells with long perforated intervals or horizontal laterals to ensure stable production and the lowest possible flowing bottomhole pressure.
